Gyproc WallBoard: square edge or tapered edge?

The edge is mainly a finishing choice. Square-edge board is the straightforward option when the whole face will receive a skim coat. Tapered Edge Plasterboard leaves a shallow recess where two factory edges meet, giving space for joint tape and compound when the wall is being tape-and-jointed. Both edge types are available within the Gyproc WallBoard family, so choose the finish before calculating boards and jointing materials.
For board quantities, calculate the lining area and divide by the face area of the board, then allow for cuts and waste. A 1200 x 2400 mm board covers 2.88 m² before waste.
