What is Celotex board made of?
Celotex insulation boards are made of polyisocyanurate foam, aluminum foil and is one of the most thermally efficient products available. The foam is sandwiched between two aluminum foil facings and this creates a tough and lightweight board. The manufacturing process for PIR foam involves a chemical reaction. This makes a closed-cell structure that traps a gas. The gas is less hot than air, so it is very good at keeping you warm. Because of this, PIR foam is one of the most thermally efficient insulation products available.
Celotex PIR insulation comes off the line in large sheets. They are cut to the desired size. They are not ready right away so they must wait for a chemical reaction and then they can be sold and used.
Where is Celotex based?
Celotex makes PIR insulation at two sites in the UK. Celotex PIR insulation is made from two production plants, Hadleigh in Suffolk and Eggborough in Yorkshire. All plants are fully accredited with ISO 9001 Quality Management and the industry’s new PAS 2030 specification for performance of building materials against a range of predicted environmental conditions.
